Lydia's RPG Library

I own far too many RPG products, at the moment. This is a list of everything on my shelves (minus lots of old AD&D stuff which I can't seem to find), with links to the appropriate home pages. It also contains a general RPG-related index.

Note that this is a listing of my stuff, and therefore contains my inherent biases. Also, because it's a listing of what I own, it's not a comprehensive listing of supplements for any of the systems listed here. On the other hand, there's quite a bit of linkage here.

My Roleplaying Shelf

o Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, 1st Edition (TSR)
I cut my teeth on this at the age of nine. I was only dimly aware that other RPGs existed until my first GenCon, in 1988, five years later.
o Player's Handbook
o Dungeon Master's Guide
o Monster Manual I
o Dragonlance Adventures
o Module: A1 Slave Pits of the Undercity
o Module: A2 Secret of the Slavers Stockade
o Module: A3 Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords
o Module: A4 In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords

o Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, 2nd Edition (TSR)
I am one of those players who prefer the second edition of AD&D to the first, though I regret that the 2nd edition DMG is missing a lot of the nifty flavor material from the original, like the gems chart. The binding of the books is lousy, though; my 1st edition books, which have seen far heavier use, are still in much better condition than my 2nd edition books. I've noted the "revised 2nd edition" black books as "(black)".
o Player's Handbook
o Player's Handbook (Revised)

o Den of Thieves
o Cardmaster
o Module: Return to the Keep on the Borderlands

o AD&D (2nd Edition) Campaign Worlds (TSR)

o Al-Qadim Arabian Adventures
o Al-Qadim Boxed Set
o Al-Qadim module: Reunion
o Greyhawk: Greyhawk Wars boxed set

o Module: Feast of Goblyns
o Module: Ship of Horrors
o Module: From the Shadows
o Module: Roots of Evil

o Age of Empire (Epitaph Studios)
The title of the rulebook says, "Mad Victorian Fantasy". It's Victorian genre fiction, sort of like Castle Falkenstein without the steampunk elements.

o Amazing Engine (TSR)
TSR's attempt to create a generic gaming system.
o Universe Book: For Faerie, Queen, and Country

o Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game (Phage Press)
I like diceless games, particularly those played LARP-style. I am less fond of the tendency of Amber DRPG sessions to break down into one-on-one sessions between individual players and the gamemaster. I've never played an Amber game that didn't have its system tweaked in one or more major ways, but it's still a terrific system for this particular theme.
o Amber
o Shadow Knight
o Amberzine #6 (contains Zelazny's short story, "The Salesman's Tale")
o Visual Guide to Castle Amber
o Complete Amber Sourcebook

o Aria (Last Unicorn Games)
A fantastic idea hidden under a couple of hundred pages of jargon. This is more of a world-designer's tool than a roleplaying game in the traditional sense, though it can be used as such.
o Aria: Canticle of the Monomyth
o Aria Worlds

o Armageddon (Myrmidon Press)

o Ars Magica (Lion Rampant / White Wolf / Wizards of the Coast / Atlas Games)
One of my favorite systems; it has in my opinion, the best magic system of any RPG, plus the innovation of "Troupe-style" play. An almost-historical medieval Europe where all the superstitions are reality serves as the backdrop to the intrigues of mighty wizards.
o Ars Magica (1st Edition)
o Ars Magica (2nd Edition)
o Ars Magica (3rd Edition, White Wolf and WotC printings)

o Ultima Thule
o Winter's Tale
o Wizard's Grimoire

o The Babylon Project (Chameleon Eclectic)
Based on the Babylon 5 TV show. An interesting read for a fan, if not a particularly unique RPG.
o The Babylon Project
o Earthforce Sourcebook

o Bushido (FGU)
One of the few games featuring medieval Japan. Now out of print, very difficult to learn, and rather obscure, but a classic nonetheless.

o Call of Cthulhu (Chaosium)
Nothing quite brings terror to the heart of players like the Elder Gods. This is one of the best systems and settings out on the market.
o Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition)
o Call of Cthulhu (Edition 5.5)
o GM's Screen (5th Edition)
o Delta Green (from Pagan Press)
o Cthulhu Live
o Cthulhu Live, 2nd Edition

o Castle Falkenstein (R. Talsorian Games)
"Steampunk" -- magic and technology in a psuedo-historical Victorian age. It has gorgeous production values, an innovative system using cards rather than dice, and a rich backdrop.
o Castle Falkenstein (hardcover)
o Comme il Fait

o The D6 System (West End Games)
One of the most recent of the generic systems, somewhat familiar from Star Wars and other RPGs from West End Games. It's clean, quick, and easy to convert for other systems.

o Chivalry & Sorcery (Highlander Designs)
A classic from the late 70s, updated for the 90s. Complex medieval fantasy roleplaying with a large detailed skill list and some excellent lists of equipment and other such items.
o Chivalry & Sorcery (3rd Edition)
o Gamemaster's Guide
o Gamemaster's Shield

o Deadlands (Pinnacle Entertainment Group)
The "Weird West" -- undead and other abominations roam the Wild West in an altered steampunk-horror history where the Civil War is still being fought in 1876. Some interesting new mechanics, including poker-card-based magic. Followed up by the "Wasted West", set after the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse devastate the world in the 20th century.
