Music stuff:

Classical Music Radio Stations & Broadcasters (ClassicalNet)
Thanks to RealAudio, you too can now listen to the radio over the Internet. There's only one classical radio station in the DC area, and even if the quality of sound isn't phenomenal, having the Internet choices is great.

WDND: Heroic Music for Fantasy Roleplaying Games (Live365)

Humorous stuff:

All this stuff was originally taken from USENET postings.

Men Who Use Computers Are The New Sex Symbols of the '90s
From a net-repost of an article Scott Adams (the "Dilbert" cartoonist) wrote about the sex appeal of Dilbert, and, indeed, computer geeks in general.

Taking Lessons Learned in the Dot-Com World Offline
An amusing list of top ten things to remember when transitioning from the new economy back to the old.

Disney Heroine Roundtable
From rec.arts.disney: An amusing "roundtable" discussion between recent Disney Heroines (Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine), moderated by Snow White. It's a post of a Peter David piece in Comic Buyer's Guide.

Violinists Have Bigger Brains
Really, they do. This is an authentic news article.

A Footsoldier in God's Floating Orchestra
Garrison Keillor talks about his freelance violinist wife, and professional etiquette.

Mime's Invisible Box MUSH
From rec.games.mud.tiny: MibMUSH is a parody advertisement of MUSHes, particularly World of Darkness ones.

Kid stuff:

I admit it. In some ways, I'm a hopeless geek, and despite being solidly middle management, I've discovered that being an adult with an income means that you can indulge in all of the things that your allowance wouldn't buy you as a kid.

While I don't actually have any toys in my house, I've discovered that the World-Wide Web's home to many people who have obsessive interests related to childhood hobbies. So, links to toys and comics old and new:

GI Joe
I watched the cartoon series, and read the comic book through the first hundred and thirty or so issues, but never had any of the toys.

LEGO
LEGO is the ultimate cool construction set. I could have decades of fun with enough bricks at my disposal. I started building again after I found the multi-thousand-piece adult collector sets.

Robotech
I adore the Macross Saga portion of Robotech. I've got the Macross run of comics, all the novels, and really want to get my hands on an uncut set of tapes. Back in early 1993, I ran Robotech MUSH. (Its spiritual descendant is still up and running today.)

Robotix
Next to LEGO, this is my favorite construction system. There was a point in time in my childhood when I had all of the sets. Now it's just a distant fond memory, along with FASTECH (which I can't find a webpage for and is probably no longer being manufactured).

Star Wars
I love Star Wars. I have most of the roleplaying material. I helped start the original Star Wars MUSH. I've got all the novels. I don't have any of the toys, but the idea of having a four-foot model of the Millenium Falcon hanging in a hallway in my house still has a great deal of appeal for me.

X-Men
I was unwittingly dragged into reading the X-Men comics by a housemate who was trying to persuade me to play on his X-Men-based MUSH, From the Ashes. I don't collect, but I do mooch books off others.

Ramblings:

I like to write. Occasionally I ramble. This is some of it.

Childhood Dreams
Fantasy, childhood, and adulthood, and why I won't grow up.

Software:

I am a big believer in open source software, and occasionally contribute to projects, or release things that I wrote for myself. Here's a sampling.

Charm
A client for LiveJournal, written in Python.

NOCOL
I contributed the Tcl/Tk-based client.
