Belorix described himself as the "Last Magus of Maurath's Retreat," and
his brief and fatal encounter with Tariq al'Imi is described in Scene 12
of the Interim Adventure, The Vis Hunt. He ruled the Retreat
through the power of the Dragon's Womb, but that item exacted a terrible
price on Belorix and his covenant's inhabitants. His manner of death
left strong doubts in Tariq's mind as to whether or not he possessed the
Gift, and was in fact a Magus of the Order.
