Hey All,
I know it's a big strain on Mike, but I really like the longer sessions. For me at least, the difference between a two hour session (this is after all the pre-bull stuff is over) and a three hour session is enourmous.
It's to the point where I'd actually bring furniture to my apartment if y'all wanted to come over for a weekend session. (I think only John understands what a statement that is. :) )
(Nothing like PowerGaming(tm) )

I agree with Doug; the longer session was absolutely wonderful. It takes a while for things to get moving, too. I can continue to play until indefinitely late on Thursday nights, too.
I also like 'continuing' the session via email; it seems like a very cool way to do the Covenant politicking that might otherwise be glossed over. :)

Nah, it's not that much of a strain.
Next Wednesday might be somewhat of the same deal -- leaving to take my wife in to work. Maybe it would be better for us to start play at around 7pm, and play until 11?
Hmmm, gotta think about it.

I'd rather get people there by 5:30 or 6, have time to sit around, deal with administrivia, BS a little, and generally hang out, and then actually start play at 7. :) There's also enough pre-adventure things to do that we can probably fill the 5:30-6:15 time pretty easily.
Otherwise, the likely result is people drifting in between 7 and 8 and play not getting started 'til some time later.

All right, then. Can I then outline a general schedule thusly:
5:30pm - 5:45pm Gather in Polar Bear 5:45pm - 6:30pm Administrivia 6:30pm - 7:15pm Break while Storyguide drives his wife into work. ;) 7:15pm - 11:15pm Gaming, Gaming, Gaming !!!That gives us four solid hours of RPing, and as an added bonus I get to bed by midnight. ;)
How does that sound to everybody?

I've found that having an hour or two before a "game" of Ars Magica is a must. It's the best time to do ArM's inter-seasonal stuff, do the covenant "accounting" of vis, etc, etc. The role-playing can start at anytime, but it's best to have that hour of clean-up before the SG starts their actual story.
The schedule sounds fine by me. I'm used to at least four hours of gaming in campaigns myself, but then, that was all the gaming for the week in one session, rather than this very interesting out of game discussion y'all have going on. I only wish I could have joined in the discussion in character; it looked fun.
See y'all Wednesday.
