The House Rule on Studying from the Library

Thus Spake Michaelus:

There is a seperate book for each magnitude (5 levels) or fraction thereof of Arts, i.e., your Library has a score of 8 in Vim, thus there are two books, one containing levels 1-5 and one containing levels 6-8.

To study from books during a Season, you need the book(s) containing BOTH your starting and ending level. For the entire Season. If you can only get some of the books, for the purpose of that Season's study, the score you use to study equals the highest level of the books you could obtain.

F'rinstance:
Dingo the Wizard , a new arrival at the Concilium, has a score of 2 in Aquam, and wants to Study Aquam from Books this Season. The Library's score in Aquam is 13, thus there are three volumes in the Concilium Library: 1-5, 6-10, and 11-13. The two higher volumes are being used this Season by somebody else, so poor Dingo is left with the 1-5 volume. The score he uses to determine his increase is thus 5, not 13. Dingo studies diligently and goes from 2 to 4 in Aquam that Season (5 div 2 = 2.5, thus an increase of 2).

I'll make up a checklist of all the individual books in the library that we can use to coordinate who gets what each Season. Will this cause conflict? Undoubtedly. Will it promote the otherwise useless Copying Arts seasonal activity? Most certainly. So sue, I am a Minion of Satan after all. ;)
